About Wendy Lee Davies
Okay, so I'm an Australian and I live in Melbourne with my husband. (In case you don't know, Melbourne is the capital city of the state of Victoria, a southern state on mainland Australia.)
I've been an editor for a forestry magazine and a technical writer translating IT terminology into everyday English. Before starting my own business, I was as an Online Editor, responsible for writing website news articles and information for parents about the public education system in Victoria.
My first romance story, Good Enough For Love (under the title The Drover's Rest) won the 2017 Romance Writers of Australia's Emerald Award for best unpublished romance manuscript and was a finalist in the Mid-American Romance Writer's Fiction from the Heartland competition. In 2016,
it was shortlisted for the inaugural XO Romance Prize, and, in 2015, it was one of nine manuscripts selected from around Australia to be part of the Queensland Writers Centre/Hachette Australia Manuscript Development Program, and the only romance story of the group.
That first story’s success is a lot to live up to. My next romance story, Brave Enough For Love is currently being written. The next one planned, tentatively called Crazy Enough For Love, consists of some vague thoughts at this stage.
I've always enjoy cycling, especially cycle touring which I did a lot of in my younger, some say more foolish, years. Now that I'm older and wiser, I'm happily wearing out the bike paths near my place with my amazing pedal-assist electric bike. And don't forget traversing some of the incredible rail trails we have in Victoria, and a few in New Zealand as well. My other interests include landscape photography (most pictures on this website were taken by me), cooking and designing jewellery.
Feel free to contact me to ask questions or whatever.
